Wizard World Ft. Lauderdale!

We sold over 150 total issues this weekend at Wizard World and met some incredibly people. I wanted to give Aaron Lambert, one of my neighbors at the convention, a shout out.  He's an amazing artist and you can find his work at www.aaronlambertart.com.  I also sat down and did an interview with www.comicbookmovie.com.  I will post links once its available.  In the meantime, here is some cosplay photos from the convention!  Enjoy!

Preview art for issue #4

Here's a sneak peek of the layouts for pages 1 -4 of issue #4. Don't forget, Tampa Bay Comic Con this weekend.  Grab tickets HERE and be sure to pick up a FREE copy of the Solar Flare Preparation Guide there!  I hope to see you there!

Upcoming Convention Schedule

I just wanted to update everyone on our upcoming convention schedule.  I'll be attending the Tampa Bay Comic Convention on July 31st- August 2nd.  Unfortunately, I don't have a table, but my friends and I will be passing out Solar Flare Preparation Guides! After that, I will have a table at both the Baltimore Comic Convention (September 25th-27th) and Wizard World Ft. Lauderdale (October 2nd-4th)! I also wanted to give a quick update on where we are at with the comic. We are almost complete with issue #3 and about to start the art on issue #4! More news to come!

Kickstarter #2 FULLY FUNDED!

A big thank you to everyone who contributed to our issue #2 Kickstarter! We raised over $2,500! My ultimate goal is to complete the first 6 issues by the end of the year and then release our first trade paperback (reprinting issues #1-#6) at the beginning of next year!  #3 is almost fully colored and ready to be lettered along with the Solar Flare Preparation Guide Handout!  Great things are in store for fans of Solar Flare! Here's Song Ye's variant cover for issue #3!

A Special Thanks

Guten tag everybody!  I woke up this morning feeling incredibly lucky and grateful on how amazing things are going with Solar Flare.  I want to take a moment and thank a few people/websites/companies that have helped me make this comic become a reality. First and foremost, I want to thank comic writer Jim Zub.  Jim writes two of my favorite comics, Skullkickers and Wayward, and his blogs posts (www.jimzub.com) about breaking into comics helped me more than words can properly describe. I also wanted to thank the comic book printing company, Print Ninja (www.printninja.com). The prices and customer service there have been out of this world! If you ever get the itch to create your own comic like I did, be sure to get it printed there. Lastly, I wanted to give a shout out to the fine folks at Deviant Art (www.deviantart.com). I would have never met Branko, Song or Michael if it wasn't for the forums there.  It's also a great place to network with other comic creators and it's also FREE! Only 8 days left until my signing at Record Trader in Ft. Myers and the end of our 2nd Kickstarter campaign for issue #2. If you haven't already, please check and share this link. http://kck.st/1PUP0x1 I have some great news I plan on sharing very soon.  Until then, take care and god bless!  --James

PS.  Check out this cover concept sketch I got from Song yesterday for issue #3!

First Look At Solar Flare #3!

I just wanted to share some of the first completed pages for Solar Flare #3! I am working on the script for issue #4 and things are going great!  I am so stoked about next month's comic store signings and conventions.  There is a little less than 30 days left in the Kickstarter campaign for issue #2.  If you could, please share with anyone who might be interested!  Here's the link :
